Community Events

Cayton Parish Council organises and supports a range of community events throughout the year to bring residents together, celebrate village life and encourage local involvement. These events are an important part of our work to strengthen community spirit and provide opportunities for people of all ages to take part in shared activities.

Events we organise or support

The programme changes each year, but examples of regular or recent events include:

  • Christmas Lights Switch‑On with festive stalls and activities
  • Children’s Christmas Party
  • Halloween Party and family activities
  • Remembrance Sunday support and wreath‑laying
  • Community Litter Picks and environmental action days
  • Village Summer Activities and outdoor family events
  • Warm Spaces and Community Drop‑ins during winter
  • Support for national celebrations such as royal or commemorative events

These events are shaped by community interest and volunteer availability.

Staying up to date

Information about upcoming events, last‑minute updates and photos from recent activities is shared on:

  • The Cayton Parish Council Facebook page
  • The noticeboard at Jubilee Hall, Main Street, Cayton

Both are updated regularly so residents can easily keep track of what’s happening in the village.

Volunteering at events

Many community events rely on the support of local volunteers. Help is often needed with:

  • Setting up and packing away
  • Stewarding and welcoming visitors
  • Running stalls or activity stations
  • Supporting community clean‑ups
  • General assistance on the day

Volunteering is flexible, friendly and a great way to get involved in village life. Anyone interested in helping at future events can contact the Parish Clerk to register their interest.
