Services Provided by North Yorkshire Council
Many of the day‑to‑day local services used by residents in Cayton are delivered by North Yorkshire Council (NYC). While the Parish Council looks after a small number of local facilities and community matters, most operational services are the responsibility of NYC, and issues should be reported directly to them so they can be dealt with quickly and efficiently.
Services handled by North Yorkshire Council

Reporting Issues
Residents are encouraged to report problems directly to North Yorkshire Council, as this ensures the issue reaches the correct team without delay. NYC provides online reporting tools for most services, including:
- Potholes and road defects
- Streetlight faults
- Missed bin collections
- Fly‑tipping
- Noise or environmental concerns
- Planning enforcement issues
Reporting directly helps ensure the matter is logged, tracked and resolved by the appropriate department.
