Update

CAYTON – North Yorkshire Council has issued an update advising residents of a temporary parking suspension in Cayton as part of essential highway maintenance works scheduled for August.

The restriction will affect Beck Hole, Cayton (outside properties 1-2) on Wednesday, 12 August 2026.

The parking suspension forms part of a wider programme of highway maintenance works taking place across the Scarborough area. The overall restriction period is scheduled to run between 10 August and 14 August 2026, with the Cayton works planned for a single day within that timeframe.

North Yorkshire Council says the temporary restrictions are necessary to allow contractors to carry out essential maintenance safely and efficiently.

Motorists are advised to avoid parking within the affected area during the works and to allow extra time for journeys where temporary traffic management measures may be in place.
