Cayton Parish Council is proud to announce the installation of Bleed Kits in all council owned community defibrillator cabinets, providing vital tools to help control severe bleeding before emergency services arrive. Should you need access simply phone 999 and they will advise you of the current cabnet lock code.

Catastrophic bleeding can lead to death in under five minutes, making rapid intervention critical. According to trauma care statistics, 40% of trauma-related deaths are due to uncontrolled bleeding — many of which could be prevented with immediate action and proper equipment.

Each Bleed Kit includes essential items such as a tourniquet, haemostatic dressing, and gloves, enabling bystanders to act quickly and confidently in emergencies. The initiative strengthens Cayton’s commitment to community safety and preparedness.

Residents are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the locations of defibrillator cabinets and the new Bleed Kits — because every second counts when saving a life.
